Train 2 Work

Train2Work is a work training programme that equips individuals with special needs with vocational and employability skills. It aims to provide continuous, meaningful and individualized employability training for youths and adults with Autism.

Trainees in the Train2Work programme will learn hard skills to enable them to be competent in their work tasks:

> Basic vocational skills – Sorting, cutting, laminating, packing

> Back end retail skills – Sorting clothes into different categories, price tagging, folding clothes, steaming clothes

> Basic IT skills – Using a computer, Microsoft office skills (Word, Powerpoint and Excel Trainees in the Train2Work programme will also learn soft skills that enables them to be more employable:

> Work habits – Importance of punctuality, sustaining work stamina, checking work before submitting, following a given task schedule

> Communication skills – Asking for help, submitting work to supervisor when done, informing supervisor when late or unable to turn up for work
